Africa is the home of the marshmallow (or Marsh Mallow). The plant's therapeutic qualities are present in every portion. The Greek word althe, which is the source of the name Althea, means "to heal." It served as the primary component of the candy with the same name.
Usage
The Marshmallow root has been used as a herbal medicine for cough, sore throat, and other respiratory issues like bronchitis since the Middle Ages.
Use 2 to 5 tablespoons of dry herb per tea cup while making a tea. As desired, add sugar. The herb marshmallow can also be vaporized.
