Kanna - Sceletium tortuosum
Kanna - Sceletium tortuosum - 10 Seeds
Little plant endemic to South Africa called "Kanna" (Sceletium tortuosum), whose root the Hottentots chewed for euphoric benefits three hundred years ago. It was given the chewing substance name kaugoed by the Dutch settlers in South Africa.
It has thick, meaty leaves and low-growing branches that can reach a height of 30 cm. The shrub bears tiny, bright yellow flowers.
Cultivation of kana
Cacti and Sceletium tortuosum plant cultivation are quite similar. Both cultivation and maintenance are thought to be rather simple. It is advised to spread seeds onto regular cactus soil, lightly press them down, and water them in order to start plants from seeds. Two weeks to two months pass before germination begins.
