San Pedro - Trichocereus pachanoi

A cactus with pillars that have 4 to 9 ribbons is called a San Pedro. It has a robust root system, grows rather quickly, and branches out from the stem's base. San Pedro never stops expanding until it gives way to its own weight. In nature, the downed cactus will re-root and sprout numerous new branches.

Growing: A sterilized mixture of sand, perlite, and gravel is the best medium for growing this cactus. To assist decrease the likelihood of overwatering, make sure to include tiny drainage holes in the growth container. Do not place the growing media directly on a heater, but the environment should be humid and ideally 23 °C (73 oF). For the first three months, fluorescent illumination is ideal; avoid exposing the young cacti to direct sunlight. The cactus shouldn't be placed in direct light until they've been growing for a year.
