A common MAO-inhibitor is peganum harmala. It is frequently substituted for another component in a popular South American drink.
The amount of harmine and harmaline in usage 0,2 to 0,3 grams is sufficient to stop MAO activity for around six hours.
Warning
There is a significant concentration of MAO-inhibiting compounds in peganum harmala. Tyramine-containing meals should be avoided, and SSRIs and comparable medications shouldn't be combined. Store away from children's reach in a cold, dry area.
