Nupharine and nymphaeine, two psychotropic substances found in White Lotus or White Waterlily (Nymphaea alba) that have euphoric, sedative, and narcotic properties, are present in the plant. Some reports claim that waterlily is an effective aphrodisiac.
Usage
5 grams should be used per person to brew tea, which should be steeped in boiling water for ten to fifteen minutes. The blossoms can also be left to soak for several hours in an alcoholic beverage. Use 5 grams per bottle on average. Never go beyond the recommended dosage: The wine is made bitter and difficult to drink by White Lotus.
